Ireland Dixon

Ireland Dixon, age 85, of Ivel, KY., passed from this life, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at his residence. Ireland was born November 5, 1935, in Pike County, KY., to the late Herbert and Birdie Dixon.

Besides both parents, Ireland is preceded in death by sister, Texie Damron; brothers, Ernest Dixon, Vernon Dixon, and Arthur Dixon.

Ireland is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Gladys Dixon; sons, Danny Dixon, Jeff Dixon and his wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Katrina Cecil, Christopher Dixon, David Dixon, Kenneth Pearce, and David Pearce; great grandchildren, Lindsay Cole, Mackenzie Burgess, Zackary Ratliff, Kaitlyn Dixon, JC Dixon, Leiland Dixon, Mikah Dixon, London Pearce, and Kroy Pearce; sisters, Vera Clark, Lexie Comeau, Erma Mae Esrom, and Susan Kay Holsinger; brother, Herbert Dixon Jr.

Ireland was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Ireland will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will accept friends from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Thacker Memorial Funeral Home. There will be open visitation from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, January 1, 2021, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM also at Thacker Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Thacker Memorial Inc.
